Cation and Anion Exchange Resin Pretreatment

Ion exchange resins often contain solvents, unreacted substances from the polymerization process, and small amounts of oligomers. They may also adsorb metal ions such as iron, copper, and aluminum. When the resin comes into contact with acid or other solutions, these soluble impurities can leach into the solution, causing water quality contamination during the initial use. Therefore, new resins must be properly pretreated in the ion exchange equipment before use.
