D301FC is a macroporous weakly basic anion exchange resin with a polystyrene skeleton, containing -N(CH3)2 groups. It is less basic than strong base resins, easy to regenerate, and has a working exchange capacity three times that of strong base resins, with resistance to organic pollution. Manufactured using a unique process, it possesses high mechanical strength and chemical stability. It is used for the preparation of pure and ultrapure water, especially suitable for treating water sources with high salt and organic content. It can also be used for treating chromium-containing wastewater and decolorizing sugar solutions.

  • 1. Product Introduction:

    D301 FC is a macroporous weakly basic anion exchange resin with a polystyrene skeleton, containing -N( CH3 ) 2 ; its alkalinity is weaker than that of strong base resins, easy to regenerate, and its working exchange capacity is several times that of strong base resins, with no organic pollution. 3 It is made using a unique process and composition, thus possessing high mechanical strength and chemical stability. It is used for pure water and ultrapure water preparation, especially suitable for treating water sources with high salt and organic content. It can also be used for chromium-containing wastewater treatment and sugar solution decolorization.

    4. Product Applications:

      1. Water Treatment:

      D301 resin can remove free strong acids in water (such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid). It can also remove carbonate in the early stage of operation but will release it again in the mid to late stages, so it cannot remove weak acids. In deionization systems, D301R should be placed before the strong base anion exchanger to reduce organic contamination of the latter; when the decarbonation tower is placed after the weak base anion exchanger, its working exchange capacity can be improved. The regeneration waste liquid from the strong base unit can be used to regenerate D301R, thus reducing environmental pollution and saving regenerant.

      2. Xylose Desalting and Decolorization:

      D30R combined with 001X7 strong acid resin has good decolorization ability for corn cob hydrolysate (after activated carbon decolorization). The process can use strong acid resin (001X7) followed by weak base resin (D301R), or weak base–strong acid–weak base processes. The desalting and decolorization of this material by D301R differs from general water treatment applications; sugar addition should be increased before operation, and sugar removal should be increased before regeneration to reduce material loss. The regenerant dosage is about twice that of general water treatment.

      3. Formaldehyde Acid Removal:

      D301 can remove formic acid contained in formaldehyde.

      4. Chromium-containing Wastewater Treatment:

      D301 can be used to recover chromates from electroplating rinse water and cooling tower discharge, with excellent oxidation resistance.

     

    5. Precautions:

      1. Product Transportation and Storage:

      Store the product wet, preferably above 0°C; for long-term storage, seal tightly or add more than 5% brine; during transportation, prevent freezing, and do not place heavy objects on the resin to avoid crushing.

      2. Resin Pretreatment:

      Generally, an alkali-water-acid-water process can be used; for strict requirements, three cycles are needed, finally treating to the required ionic form.

      3. Resin Loading:

      Consider the resin's swelling rate during phase change, reserve enough space to prevent overflow and ensure proper liquid level; the column diameter ratio should be reasonable to avoid channeling; use wet loading or backwash to remove air bubbles inside the resin bed.

      4. Before liquid enters the resin column, it should undergo flocculation, filtration, or sand filtration to ensure no suspended solids, preventing resin pore blockage.

      5. Resin unused in the column for a long time should be washed out and stored, or kept in saline medium with salt water, maintaining the surface moisture and periodically backwashed to loosen the resin to prevent caking and spoilage.
