Macroporous adsorption resins are a type of polymer adsorption resin without exchange groups and with a macroporous structure. They have a well-developed macroporous network structure and a large specific surface area, allowing them to selectively adsorb organic substances from aqueous solutions through physical adsorption. Developed in the 1960s, they are a new type of organic polymer adsorbent that has been widely applied in environmental protection, food, pharmaceuticals, and other fields. Macroporous adsorption resins are organic polymer polymers insoluble in acids, bases, and various organic solvents. The technology of separation using macroporous adsorption resins was developed in the late 1960s as one of the new separation techniques following ion exchange resins.
