Storage of unused new ion exchange resin
Unused new resin, when stored in the original packaging bag under suitable conditions, even if it exceeds the recommended shelf life, in most cases there will be no deterioration in physical properties. Standard desalination and softening resins, more than two years of storage, the chemical properties of the resin will only show a slight change, for more sensitive applications, the recommended storage period is less than the recommended value in the table below, but the storage exceeds the recommended storage period It is recommended to test the standard characteristics of the resin.
resin must be stored in its original packaging, in a cool and dry place, the best indoor temperature for storage is 0~30℃. When the storage temperature is higher than 30oC, for anion resins, especially OH-type resins, there will be a drop in exchange capacity, while cation resins can withstand higher temperatures (up to 50℃). It is best to store all resins in Under the same conditions. When the temperature is lower than 0℃, it will cause the resin to freeze, and the temperature must be avoided below -18℃.Resin undergoes repeated icing-melting cycle tests, which show that resin particles will be broken. Therefore, the frozen resin should be melted first before being safely filled, and it should be slowly and completely melted at room temperature.

Just like new resins, when conditions permit, used resins should be stored under environmentally controlled conditions to maximize their service life. In addition, measures must be taken to prevent it from being exposed to the air, causing drying and shrinking. When the dried resin is wetted quickly, the resin particles will be broken. At this time, the dry resin should be wetted with 10% sodium chloride brine, and then diluted with clean water to replace the brine to prevent the resin particles from breaking due to rapid changes in osmotic pressure. During the long-term use of the resin, the problem of microbial growth will occur. In order to reduce the problem of microbial contamination, the deactivated system should be sealed with a concentrated NaCl solution. In addition, the concentrated NaCl solution can also prevent the resin from freezing.

After the resin has failed, fully backwash the resin layer.
Prepare 15-25% NaCl solution, and introduce the concentrated brine into the exchanger until there is no air in the resin.
When the exchanger is put into operation in the future, the concentration of brine must be gradually reduced to reduce the impact of resin osmotic pressure.
Before put into operation, the resin bed must be regenerated twice or three times.
